Academic Support Services
When students feel a sense of belonging and support, they’re more likely to experience academic and social success. That’s why the College of Design is dedicated to providing services that will help all students succeed.
Design Student Services and Programs Office
The Design Student Services and Programs Office provides assistance in many areas, including honors programs, scholarship information, study abroad, and more. It is open from 8 AM – 5 PM CT weekdays during the academic year on the second floor of the College of Design building (room 297).
The College of Design supports students through a team-based approach to academic advising. Students have access to a professional academic advisor from orientation through graduation with expertise in areas related to student success, and will also be assigned a faculty mentor at the beginning of the third year in your major.
Inclusion and belonging
Iowa State University is committed to offering a safe and welcoming campus, and providing learning environments that help all students succeed. Several offices within the college provide services, support, events, and financial and academic resources to promote and encourage these goals.
Design Career Services offers programs and services to help students develop life-long skills in career development. We offer programming, one-on-one meetings, events, and online tools. We facilitate connections with employers through career fairs focusing on College of Design programs, employer presentations, and job and internship postings for Iowa State students and alumni.
