Help graphic design associate professor Lisa Fontaine celebrate her retirement from Iowa State at a reception from 5–8 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Alluvial Brewing Company in Ames.

Fontaine joined the Iowa State graphic design faculty in 1987. She has taught courses from first year to graduate level and served as the director of the Graphic Design in Europe program for 13 years. She has practiced, taught and researched exhibit design, logo design, wayfinding and graphic identity systems, and she led the development of the Master of Arts in Environmental (now Experiential) Graphic Design – the first graduate program of its kind in the nation. She will receive the 2024 Faculty-Staff Inspiration Award from the ISU Alumni Association on May 7. She will retire May 15.
