ISU integrated studio arts seniors to showcase work in BFA exhibition April 10-22
03/27/17
AMES, Iowa — Iowa State University seniors majoring in integrated studio arts will share their work in the annual Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibition April 10-22 in the ISU College of Design’s Gallery 181.
“In•ten•tion•al” will feature work by 33 students who will graduate with a BFA in integrated studio arts from Iowa State in May, August or December 2017. Each graduating senior selected a collection of his/her own work that most strongly represented her/his time in the degree program.
The students chose an exhibition title that “resonated with each [one’s] experience,” said integrated studio arts senior Carly Ludwig of Carroll. “The past four years at Iowa State have taught [us] that everything from the projects created to the discussions held to the navigation of life outside of college must be deliberate, thus inspiring the title ‘In•ten•tion•al.’”
Ludwig and her classmates are enrolled in the spring-semester ArtIS 499: Senior Seminar/Exhibition course taught by Joe Muench, professor of art and visual culture. Professor Chris Martin, art and visual culture, is helping the students coordinate the gallery installation.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The exhibition is free and open to the public with the exception of 8 a.m. to noon Friday, April 14, during the College of Design Awards Day celebration. A closing reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
