Spectrum of Innovation Symposium

The Spectrum of Innovation Symposium will explore and celebrate the dynamic landscape of innovation across a range of fields. The symposium will take place April 25–26 and will address four key themes: fostering creativity and innovation in higher education, promoting innovation in accessibility, exploring ethical considerations in innovation and driving innovation for sustainability.

April 26 symposium schedule:

8:30–9 a.m.
Welcome address by Dean Luis Rico-Gutierrez and breakfast (Design 101)

9–10 a.m.
Keynote speaker: “Human-Centered Approach to Accessibility Design,” with Jon O’Neill, Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Minnesota at Duluth (SICTR Stepatorium)

10–10:15 a.m.
Coffee break (SICTR Stepatorium)

10:15–11 a.m.
Tour and exhibition (SICTR 1102)

11 a.m.–Noon
Panel discussion: “Innovation for Sustainability,” with Raluca Iancu, assistant professor of art and visual culture (SICTR Stepatorium)

Noon–1 p.m.
Lunch and tour

1–2 p.m.
Keynote speaker: “Building Bridges to Connect People to Progress,” with Michael W. Burns, Founder and Executive Director of Community and College Partners (C2P2) in Locust Grove, Georgia (SICTR Stepatorium)

2:15–3:30 p.m.
