Inclusion International: Open-Source Assistive Technologies

Hosted by Alenka Poplin, associate professor in the Department of Community and Regional Planning, Deinhofer will share the key outcomes of Inclusion International, a project focused on internationalization of “e-Inclusion,” i.e., support of people with disabilities through modern information and communication technologies. He will outline the development of open-source assistive technologies including:

  • AsTeRICS Grid: Open Source Alternative and Augmentative Communication
  • FABI: Open Source Assistive Button Interface
  • FlipMouse: Open Source Mouth Mouse
  • FlipPad: Open Source Assistive Touchpad
  • Facial Gesture Mouse (gesture mouse github project)

The University of Applied Sciences Vienna is a partner in the international exchange of staff and students and will host Iowa State students during a planned course field trip to Vienna this summer.
