Iowa State University architecture faculty members Shelby Doyle (assistant professor and Daniel J. Huberty Faculty Fellow in Architecture), Leslie Forehand (lecturer) and Nick Senske (assistant professor) will present a workshop on “Computation as a Catalyst to Gender Parity in Architectural Practice” at the Fall 2017 AIA Iowa Convention, “Cohesion.” Their workshop will examine the gender gap in architectural technology and computational design and propose an agenda toward greater equality in academia and practice. The workshop will conclude with an overview of three initiatives in design education that reduce gender-based barriers for women within the field of architecture.
