Shelby Doyle, associate professor of architecture and Stan G. Thurston Professor in Design-Build, received a Big 12 Faculty Fellowship to visit Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she will be hosted by Iowa State alumna Erin Hunt (BArch 2017 Architecture), assistant professor of architecture at TTU.

The Big 12 Faculty Fellowship Program offers faculty the opportunity to travel to member institutions to exchange ideas and research. Doyle and Hunt will collaborate on their research in digital fabrication using water soluble formwork for casting concrete, which was awarded the Autodesk / ACADIA Emerging Research award in 2019, and Doyle will tour the Digital Fabrication Lab at TTU to learn about its setup and operation. The results will be presented at the 2022 ACADIA Conference hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design in Philadelphia.
