“An investigation of design thinking principles in “Technology-First” design process,” an article by Seda McKilligan, Iowa State University associate professor of industrial design and College of Design associate dean of academic programs, and Hye Jeong Park, PhD student in human computer interaction, with colleagues from the University of Michigan, was presented at the 12th Design Thinking Research Symposium (DTRS12) Nov. 15-16 in South Korea. The article reports on North American and Korean companies’ approaches to technology-first versus problem-first design processes.
