“Evidence of Problem Exploration in Creative Designs,” a journal article by Seda McKilligan, an Iowa State University associate professor of industrial design, and her colleagues at the University of Michigan, has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Design, Analysis and Manufacturing. This manuscript reports on a large-scale qualitative analysis aimed as characterizing changes to problems during the process of design, describing distinct patterns of problem exploration across designers and problems.
