Reinaldo Correa, assistant teaching professor in architecture, has won a public art competition to design, fabricate and install a permanent work of art at The Arden, a seven-story, multifamily affordable community under construction by Wesley Housing in Alexandria, Virginia. Correa’s winning “Tree of Light” proposal is intended to welcome residents, highlight Wesley Housing’s mission to enhance quality of life through improving the built environment, add a cultural place-making element to this area of Fairfax County, Virginia, and have a strong day- and nighttime presence.
