Raluca Iancu, assistant professor of art and visual culture, has been invited to participate in the North Louisiana Virtual Residency , sponsored by the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation in partnership with the North Central Louisiana Arts Council, from May 11–June 22, and the Art Beacon Digital Residency on Instagram from July 28–Aug. 10.

During the North Louisiana Virtual Residency, Iancu is working on several projects, including a collaboration with Jen Scheuer, assistant professor of printmaking at Purdue University, to document and respond to the global experience of the COVID-19 pandemic. Together they are creating a series a hand-pulled fine art prints featuring a combination of several print media (relief prints, screen prints, etchings and lithographs) that explore the refrigerator as a repository for food as well as human experience and connection in this time of isolation. The outcome will be a print collection bound together in artist books to share with the community.
