Olivia Valentine, assistant professor of art and visual culture, received a fall 2019 CEAH Research Grant from the Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities for “Mediate/Equivocate: An architectural scale installation project at the Des Moines Art Center.” A culmination of several threads of creative research, the project will consist of a new large-scale installation, a sculpture and photographic series, and a new chapter of an ongoing collaboration with composer Paula Matthusen. The work will be presented in a public exhibition at the Des Moines Art Center in fall 2020.
