Mikesch Muecke, associate professor of architecture and editor, designer and publisher of Culicidae Press, was invited to the Jan. 18 virtual birthday celebration for Guy Stern — one of the Ritchie Boys — hosted by the German National Library, the PEN Center for German-Speaking Authors Abroad and the German Exile Archive 1933-1945.
Stern, who turned 100 on Jan. 14, was celebrated in his role as writer, former professor and recipient of honors from the German Exile Archive 1933-1945. His wife, Susanna Piontek, published her collection of short stories “Have We Possibly Met Before?” through Culicidae Press in 2012.
