Work by associate professors Firat Erdim, architecture, and Olivia Valentine, art and visual culture, will be part of the 75 Years of Iowa Art exhibition Feb. 11–May 7 at the Des Moines Art Center. An opening celebration will be from 5–7 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 10.
On view at the opening will be three instruments that are part of “Field Harp,” an ensemble of 16 single-string wind-activated harps designed and constructed by Erdim. Volunteers from various community organizations will perform the Field Harp outside the art center on the following dates/times, weather permitting: 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 7; 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30; 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 5.
