Iowa State’s unique approach to plexiglass waste will be highlighted at this year’s international AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) Virtual Conference Oct. 12-14. Dan Neubauer, associate teaching professor of industrial design; Ayodeji Oluwalana, ISU recycling coordinator; and Merry Rankin, director of sustainability, will present their collaborative project partnering facilities planning and management with industrial design students to strategize upcycling and beneficial reuse solutions for waste plexiglass instead of sending it to the landfill.
