“In-Home Monitoring Technology for Aging in Place: Scoping Review” an article by Daejin Kim, assistant professor of Interior design, has been published in the Interactive Journal of Medical Research.

His co-authors include Hongyi Bian, a doctoral student in computer science; Carl Chang, professor emeritus of computer science; Liang Dong, professor of electrical and computer engineering and director of the Microelectronics Research Center; and Jennifer Margrett, professor of Human Development and Family Studies and associate dean for research and graduate education in the College of Human Sciences.

The main purpose of this study was to classify recent smart home technologies that monitor older adults’ health and to architecturally describe these technologies as they are used in older adults’ homes.
