Christopher Chiavetta, graduate student in integrated visual arts from Des Moines, is a co-organizer with Rachel Buse of DSM Emerald City, part of the sixth annual Art Week Des Moines, June 19-26. Residents of Des Moines are invited to design a yardwork installation with materials on hand at home and provide those driving, walking and biking through neighborhoods with visual surprises at a safe social distance. Chiavetta and Buse are both sculptors interested in working in nature and using material and color to explore meaningful interactions with people.
