Britney Markhardt, a sophomore in community and regional planning from Belleville, Wisconsin, will present “Self-sustainable Communities: Geodesigning the Future of Agriculture” Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the 2019 Geodesign Summit in Redlands, California. She will share the work of the fall 2018 Geodesign class taught by assistant professor Alenka Poplin, which developed a project using Grinnell, Iowa, as a case study of climate change impacts of and on agriculture and innovations that could help create a self-sustaining community.
