A collaborative faculty team presented their work co-teaching a multidisciplinary elective studio for the past three years as a curricular case study at the SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design) 2021 Academic Summit held virtually June 9-10.

Graphic design associate professor Andrea Quam, industrial design assistant professor Pete Evans and interior design assistant professor of practice Mike Ford presented “Interdisciplinary Global Innovation” in the “New Directions: XGD Curriculum” session. They shared the development and outcomes of a spring-semester option studio they’ve taught the past three years with students from each of their departments, which has involved award-winning exhibition design projects for the Iowa Judicial Building and museums in Rome.
