Alenka Poplin, an Iowa State University assistant professor of community and regional planning, is a co-editor of The Virtual and the Real in Planning and Urban Design: Perspectives, Practices and Applications (Routledge, 2018), also available in an Amazon Kindle edition.

She is also a co-author with several planning students (some of whom are now alumni) of the book’s chapter on “Serious GeoGames for Civic Engagement in Urban Planning: Discussion on Four Game Prototypes.” Co-authors include Timothy Kerkhove, a senior in community and regional planning and global resource systems; Marina Reasoner (MCRP 2017 Community & Regional Planning) and Arindam Roy (MCRP 2016 Community & Regional Planning / GIS Graduate Certificate 2016).
