Iowa Artists 2021: Olivia Valentine, an exhibition of two bodies of work by Iowa Arts Council Artist Fellow Olivia Valentine, assistant professor of art and visual culture, will be on display March 12–May 16 at the Des Moines Art Center. “Mediate/Equivocate” is a large-scale rope installation embedded within the three-story wall of the Richard Meier building’s atrium. In the I.M. Pei building’s lower gallery, “The shadow is my body” consists of low-relief, small-scale plaster sculptures whose flat surfaces support watercolor drawings that resemble spilled liquid. Timed-entry tickets are required to visit the show.
