Helen Barton, senior in graphic design and president of the Graphic Design Social Club, is featured for the month of February on the Women Impacting ISU calendar. She is announced at 4:00 in the YouTube video. As an executive of the Womxn of Colour network, Barton created workshops to support Iowa State women of color. She has served as a BUILD learning community peer mentor, a Cyclone Aide, and a Margaret Sloss Center for Women and Gender Equity intern. She exhibited her work in the Octagon Center for the Arts’ Outrage to Change project last summer and created a program that combined art and social justice principles to raise funds for stipends and supplies for artists.
