Apps, Maps, and Models:
The Digital Revolution & History

Caroline Bruzelius, co-founder of the Wired! Lab at Duke University, will discuss how digital technologies are opening up the humanities to broader engagement with the public and revolutionizing the way scholars teach and do research. Bruzelius has been working with digital visualization technologies for art and architecture for more than ten years and will share how they are changing how scholars model historical questions about places, buildings, and change over time. 

Caroline Bruzelius is the Anne M. Cogan Professor of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies at Duke University and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Publication Subvention Grant

   April 3rd
The primary intent of these grants is to support the low-volume scholarly projects that are not expected to be commercially viable without assistance. Itemized budgets may include: photocopying, new illustrations, fees for the use of images, indexing, maps, grad student hourly support, and wire transfer fees.  (VPR RFP)

LAS: new Signature Research Incubator (SRI)

   October 1st
LAS faculty may apply for 3 years of seed funding at 2 distinct annual funding levels: $25-50k and $100k. Successful SRI proposals will stimulate and foster interdisciplinary collaborative scholarship, research, and programs.
