The Rome Summer Design Studio provided an opportunity for Chinese students to establish a global design vision. The summer 2019 program had fifteen students from Wuhan University, Tianjin University and Lanzhou Jiaotong University. In the intensive one-month program, students concentrated on designing an exhibition space in an archaeological museum in downtown Rome.
A number of guest lectures and museum visits were conducted to encourage students’ design thinking. An Italian culture and history course offered fieldtrips and cultural activities for in-depth understanding of Italian culture.
Students were divided into five teams. Three prizes and honorable mentions were awarded. All are documented and presented in this brochure.
