Rome Student & Family Pre-Departure Orientation

Each semester the Iowa State University College of Design holds the Rome Student and Family Orientation for students who are interested in participating in the college’s Rome Program in Italy and their families.  At orientation, you will learn what you and your student can expect when he or she studies and lives in Rome, see images of our studio space in the heart of Rome’s historic district, and learn about the benefits of study abroad. Details will also be provided about housing, costs, financial aid, insurance, communications, legal responsibilities, and the best time to visit.

You will also have the opportunity to meet various faculty members who will be your student’s program mentors and leaders, and they will present information about their respective classes. Students who previously studied in Rome will also share their experiences.  At the reception, speakers will be available for an informal question-and-answer session with drinks and snacks provided as well as see work produced by the prior year’s program participants in the gallery space.
