The Research and Outreach Dissemination Fund is dedicated to supporting time-sensitive, high-impact activities. It is important to note that it does not cover the customary cost of research and outreach typically funded by departments for faculty scholarly work.

Requests up to $2,000 will be considered, with typical awards being expected of around $1,000. Distributions will be allocated based on budget items and must be utilized within six months of the award, unless pre-requested and approved. This fund can be utilized to support the dissemination of research and outreach outcomes, including digital or printed materials. This encompasses the preparation and production of materials to convey the results of exhibitions, reports, and media interviews. All publications (digital or physical artifacts) must be prepared in alignment with Iowa State University brand standards and reviewed by the College of Design’s strategic communications and marketing teams prior to production. Domestic travel to support presentations is allowed if the activity offers a significant and high impact opportunity. The outcomes must be submitted to IDRO upon the project’s completion and within six months of fund expenditure.

The fund is available to College of Design tenure-track and term faculty, as well as research staff.
