Designing for Connection: AI and the Culture of Care

Designing for Connection: AI and the Culture of Care is the first national student competition exploring the intersection of AI and design across Art, Graphic Design, and Environmental Design. By encouraging participants to harness AI for representation rather than simulation, the competition challenges participants to produce AI-assisted images that transcend the typical “AI look.” Instead, entries should demonstrate innovation, emotional engagement, and meaningful human-centered expression—all guided by a culture of care that prioritizes empathy, well-being, and inclusivity. Participants will use AI as a creative partner—an extension of their artistic vision—rather than a mere automated tool. The goal is to foster human connection through art and design, revealing how AI-powered creativity can inspire empathetic and transformative experiences in today’s rapidly evolving cultural landscape.

Competition Due: Sept 14, 2025, 11:50 pm CST
