AMES, IA — In conjunction with the annual Art Walk in downtown Ames, an exhibit exploring the curious collections and work of local artists will be on display June 7–9 at the Iowa State University Design on Main Gallery, 203 Main St.

With A Bevy: Studio Curiosities, the gallery will be transformed into a “cabinet of curiosities” reflecting the objects, tools, images and artworks that inspire each of nine artists: Bob Anders, Deb Anders-Bond, Tibi Chelcea, Letitia Kenemer, Chris Martin, Catherine Reinhart, Kristin Roach, Anna Segner and Kathy Svec. Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at what inspires the artists in their studios and the stories behind each item.

A public reception will be from 5–8 p.m. Friday, June 7, during Art Walk. The show will also be open 12–5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 8–9. The project is supported by the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau Community Grant Program.
