Student work completed in the Iowa State University College of Design’s introductory design and drawing studios was on display from April 5–11 in locations throughout the college. A public reception and studio open house took place from 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11.

The “Core Exhibition” featured a selection of current and past projects from the Design Studies 102: Design Studio I and Design Studies 131: Drawing I courses in the college’s first-year Core Design Program. Pieces included pattern and texture drawing, mark making, still life and representational drawing, color theory and design, and three-dimensional and processional forms.

Work completed in fall 2023 and during the first half of the spring semester was exhibited on the ground and first floors of the King Pavilion and the ground, first, and second floors of the main College of Design building, including Gallery 181, atrium, and hallway spaces. Gallery 181 hours were from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Other spaces were open during regular building hours.
