“Street Strength,” an exhibition of work by seven members of the Doorway Project (Seattle) and six members of the Homeward (Iowa) Youth Action Council, will be on display from March 12–21 in the wall-mounted glass display cases between rooms 0134 and 0146 College of Design and March 12–28 in the college’s Pickard Chilton Gallery (first-floor corridor of the King Pavilion).

This work was created in collaboration between unhoused or formerly unhoused youths in Des Moines and Seattle and is displayed as an invitation to viewers to witness these youths’ stories and respond with their own. Their work illustrates the transformative power of healing-centered engagement.
