Professor Pinchang Lyu will present a slide talk on the Jingdezhen Ceramic University’s international ceramics exchange exhibition and provide an overview of their exciting programs. Jingdezhen is known as the porcelain capital of the world, and the university hosts many international practitioners and students. The Department of Art and Visual Culture is exploring a summer study abroad opportunity for students in Jingdezhen.

In addition to serving as president of Jingdezhen Ceramic University, Lyu is the director of the Chinese Artists Association, deputy director and secretary-general of the China Urban Sculpture Association, vice president of the Chinese Sculpture Society, vice president of the National Urban Sculpture Steering Committee’s art committee and president of the ceramic branch of the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association.

His visit is sponsored by the College of Design Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellows and Scholars from the Department of Art and Visual Culture.
