National Anthem – ISU Student Exhibition at Mainframe Studios

July 4 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Four Iowa State University art and visual culture students and recent graduates will share their work in the “National Anthem” exhibition July 2–23 in the Third-floor Gallery at Mainframe Studios in Des Moines.

Exhibiting artists are:

Jennifer Cruz-Meiborg, senior in integrated studio arts
Avery TeSelle, who graduated with her BFA in integrated studio arts in May
Julianna Rios, senior in integrated studio arts
Seth Swanson, senior in art and design

The College of Design has partnered with Mainframe Studios through a series of exhibitions that are open for all students to apply (undergraduates and graduates alike, from all majors) and respond to monthly themes selected by Mainframe Studios. The July 2025 theme is “National Anthem,” exploring aspects of being a student artist/designer in the United States and open to broad interpretation. Work in the July show spans a variety of media, including painting, printmaking, illustrated/collaged buttons, and drawing. The show is curated by College of Design gallery manager Rachel Connell.

Hours are 8 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday–Sunday. There will be no First Friday reception in July because of the Fourth of July holiday. Admission is free and all are welcome.
