Bret Peters, AIA, a partner with the Office for Planning and Architecture in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, will speak about the challenges associated with comprehensive planning in a city well-known for economic and political difficulties.

He also will discuss the role of comprehensive planning and everyday life in cities from 12:40 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Design on Main, and participate in an urban design studio review and workshop on inclusive urban design from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, in the Beckman Forum, King Pavilion.

Peters holds a BA in mathematics and a BA in urban studies and public policy, both from Boston University, and an MArch from Rice University. Part of the Master of Urban Design / Master of Design in Sustainable Environments Lecture Series, his lecture is cosponsored by the College of Design and the Department of Landscape Architecture.
