Geodesign: A New Approach to Sustainable Design and Planning
Michele Campagna, associate professor of spatial planning in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture at the University of Cagliari, Italy, will speak about how geodesign can impact communities and the fields of architecture and engineering. Sponsored by the Department of Community and Regional Planning, the talk is free and open to the public.
Geodesign is an approach to design that contributes to the protection of natural and anthropic systems as well as supplies methods for community involvement and collaborative decision-making using state-of-the-art digital technologies. Campagna will discuss recent advances in geodesign and share his experiences in geodesign research, education and practice. He will also provide examples of the application of geodesign methods and technologies, including Planning Support Systems (PSS).
