Sporting Kansas City Experiential Design
This multidisciplinary studio will focus on the design for a new experiential space/building for Sporting Kansas City. Multidisciplinary student teams from architecture, graphic, interior, industrial design and other disciplines will be formed to create a unique and innovative design proposal. Each design team will create a comprehensive proposal, presented at a professional level of proficiency to our ‘client.’
Each team’s design proposal will be developed utilizing a proven multidisciplinary teaching method coordinating with international design professionals and educators. Field trips to the site location in Kansas City and an international field trip to Italy — to understand the sporting experience on the world stage — are proposed. If unable to take this field trip due to the Pandemic, instructors will coordinate Zoom presentations with a line-up of international designers, field experts, consultants, and virtual tours. Domestic field trip(s) may take the place of the intended international field trip.
