College of Design Learning Outcomes

Upon graduation, undergraduate students with a degree from the College of Design will:

  1. communicate effectively using oral, written, and visual formats
  2. be critical thinkers and creative problem solvers
  3. collaborate as active members of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams
  4. connect and work across disciplines in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and design to challenge convention
  5. understand how humans interact with and respond to environments, spaces, places, and experiences
  6. show awareness and sensitivity to design ethics, equity, and social justice
  7. demonstrate knowledge in a particular design-related area of study using appropriate processes, theories, tools, and skill sets
  8. engage with local, national, and global communities
  9. be knowledgeable of issues affecting global society in their cultural, historical, political, and geographical contexts
  10. reflect on the social and environmental implications of their work and their future
