Yongyeon Cho, assistant professor of interior design, and Huiwon Lim, assistant professor of graphic design at Pennsylvania State University, tied with two other teams as winners of the Interactive Kitchen/Café Collaboration Space category of the inaugural Next Work Environment Competition sponsored by WorkDesign Magazine. The competition sought innovative ideas to create safe, productive and comfortable work environments during and after COVID-19.

Cho and Lim worked on the submission remotely over the summer. Their winning entry, “FLOAT,” is intended to metaphorically express the movement of the circle (a personal bubble) floating freely while maintaining distance from each other.
