Yongyeon Cho, assistant professor of interior design, received a spring 2022 CEAH Research Grant from the Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities for “Wellness Design Guidelines and Tools: Assessing User’s Workspace Expectations.”

Through this project, Cho aims to develop inclusive and comprehensive design assessment criteria for creating supportive office environments, and a mobile user-experience application to evaluate office environments post-pandemic. He will conduct surveys in three different countries about the experiences and expectations of 20 office design features intended to improve workers’ wellness, to assess which features most affect their physical, emotional and social well-being and which are more important to office users in different countries. He will then develop the mobile app to help designers identify current space issues and create a healthier and more supportive workspace environment.
