Iowa State University architecture faculty members Shelby Doyle (assistant professor and Daniel J. Huberty Faculty Fellow in Architecture), Leslie Forehand (lecturer) and Nick Senske (assistant professor) will present a paper they co-authored, “Computational Feminism: Searching for CyBorgs,” at the 2017 ACADIA (Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture) Conference Nov. 2-4 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The paper introduces a definition for computational feminism and presents examples of the feminist theory establishing possible entry points within computational design to bridge the gaps in gender equity and representation.
