“50mm Lens @ 22 ½ Feet (State Street, Chicago)” by Olivia Valentine, an Iowa State University assistant professor of art and visual culture, is a finalist for the inaugural Burke Prize for contemporary craft. It will be part of The Burke Prize 2018: The Future of Craft Part 2 exhibition Oct. 2, 2018, through March 17, 2019, at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. The winner of the award will be announced in November.
Valentine’s work also is part of Lace, not Lace: Contemporary Fiber Art from Lacemaking Techniques Sept. 23, 2018, through Jan. 6, 2019, at the Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton, New Jersey.
