Kimberly Zarecor, professor of architecture, is quoted in an Oct. 11 article in the Quad City Times, “Shrink Smart is a new model for communities that are losing people. Could it work in the Quad-City area?” She led the National Science Foundation-funded Iowa State University research team that studied “smart shrinkage” in Iowa communities with declining populations.
