Jennifer Drinkwater, assistant professor of art and visual culture and community arts extension specialist, has received a grant from the Puffin Foundation for The What’s Good Project, which strives to give voice and visibility to unrecognized community assets through the power of direct and creative community engagement. The grant will cover art supplies for Drinkwater’s efforts to archive community assets in each Mississippi Delta county through interviews with residents, photographs, drawings and paintings. The project will be displayed in pop-up exhibitions, shared with local civic and government leaders and captured online for a global audience.
