Amy Logan, a research scientist with the Institute for Design Research and Outreach and GIS Support and Research Facility, participated in a panel presentation on “AmericaView Education: Classrooms, Art, Games, and Lessons” Tuesday, March 22, during the American Society for Photogammetry and Remote Sensing 2022 Virtual Technical Conference. She discussed a recent survey of K-12 public school superintendents and teachers to explore how GIS and remote sensing (RS) are used in Iowa classrooms and identify barriers to using these technologies. The panel presented highlights from the survey and next steps for addressing barriers and promoting greater GIS/RS awareness among teachers and students.
