Alex Braidwood

Alex Braidwood, associate professor of graphic design, was one of 10 Iowa artists selected to contribute to a pop-up public art project with the Greater Des Moines Partnership last December. The project encouraged people to safely get outside and support local businesses. Each day for 10 days, an artist hid 15 holiday ornaments around downtown Des Moines for people to find. Braidwood’s ornaments paired 3D-printed visualizations of spoken positive messages with slices of wood from trees that fell on his property during the derecho that hit the Midwest last August.
