For five consecutive years, Iowa State’s Department of Architecture has been invited to participate in the Venice Biennale, an international expo for art and design innovation that is largely considered the world’s most significant exposition of international architecture.
In 2018, the Department of Architecture was invited to offer an educational program addressing temporary refugee and disaster relief shelters. The three day student-led workshop, Weather Permitting, included a one-day colloquium investigating the role of architects in agency and social responsibility.
