Register for Service-Learning in Design Workshop
The College of Design has partnered with the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching to host a workshop on “Service-Learning in Design: Challenges and Opportunities for Community-Engaged Coursework” from 9–11 a.m. Friday, March 6, in 4250 Student Innovation Center.
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together a cross-disciplinary group of instructors across the college to discuss best practices and critical challenges we face in developing and delivering service-learning coursework. The workshop will include information about service-learning efforts across campus, will suggest ways to cultivate community partnerships, and will provide suggestions for developing and delivering content. Facilitators will be Rob Whitehead, associate professor of architecture, CELT’s Faculty Fellow for High-Impact Practices and an instructor of service-learning coursework; and Rachel Meyers, assistant professor of classical studies, former Campus Compact fellow, CELT service-learning teaching/learning community co-chair and current service-learning instructor.
Experienced and new faculty are welcome, as are administrators and staff. Please email email@example.com to reserve your space, or register online at Learn@ISU. Participation is limited to 30 people.
