Faculty invited to join new water resources learning community

Water touches all disciplines, requiring many perspectives to solve complex water resource management problems and making it a top priority for many interdisciplinary research opportunities. The Iowa Water Center invites faculty from the arts and sciences at Iowa State University to join the Water Scholars Faculty Learning Community for the 2019-2020 academic year. Faculty will be assigned to small, subject-diverse groups that will meet once a month for professional development and group-work exercises to explore each other’s disciplines.

Learning community topics include science communication to the public and policymakers; building competitive, diverse research teams; grant writing; and arts and the environment. Up to 40 ISU faculty will be selected to join the faculty learning community. Submit a statement of interest online by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. Questions? Contact program coordinator Hanna Bates.

This project is made possible by support from the CEAH-OVPR New Explorations grant to support faculty research on campus.
