CEAH seeks nominations for Donald R. Benson Memorial Lecture
The Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities welcomes nominations for the Donald R. Benson Memorial Lecture on Literature, Science and the Arts to be given during spring 2019. This endowed lecture fund honors Donald Benson, a former ISU English professor who had a long-term interest in the relationship between intellectual disciplines. It is requested that the public lecture embrace the relationship among the disciplines of literature, science and the arts, not merely highlight one of the three areas. Invited Benson speakers are generally in residency for two days, giving one public lecture and meeting with ISU faculty and students in seminars, departmental colloquia or similar events appropriate to the speaker’s areas of research. See the call for nominations, which are due via email to Sue Shiptalo by 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14. Questions may be directed to CEAH director Carlton Basmajian.
