New visitor parking permit request system

Beginning July 1, there will be a charge for all visitor parking permits. Those who need to request visitor permits (including student organizations) will be able to log into a new link on the parking web page and request a permit or permits through the Special Event Request. In cases where it may be difficult to know how many guests will be attending an event or activity, you can receive a permit via email to send or hand out to visitors, then let the Department of Public Safety Parking Office know how many permits you used. You will also need to use this process when you need a parking meter bagged for an event. This can be done by anyone on campus with the proper account number; you no longer need to be a departmental parking coordinator to do this.

If visitors will be obtaining their own permits, they will need to enter their visitor information online along with credit card number. Visitors may continue to park at the Commuter Lots between the Iowa State Center and Jack Trice Stadium for free and ride CyRide to campus. Parking after 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends is free in General Staff, most Reserve, and some parking meters and pay lots.
