Publication subvention grant proposals

The Office of the Vice President for Research offers Publication Subvention Grants A) to support publications intended for high-quality, peer-reviewed open-access journals (up to $1,250) and B) to support low-volume scholarly projects that are not expected to be commercially viable without assistance (up to $10,000). Budgets may include photocopying, new illustrations, fees for the use of images, indexing, maps, graduate student hourly support and wire transfer fees.

Any full-time faculty member or any P&S staff member at the rank of P37 or above may apply for this award (either A or B) through his/her academic unit. Anyone outside the university working on Iowa-related research topics may apply to part B of this program by working directly with the VPR’s office.

Proposals for open access journal assistance and publication assistance for all other projects (except open access) may be submitted on a rolling basis.
